The Big Night (Comic)

"The Big Night" is a comic book that I created as part of a group collaboration organized by "Zeitlaufer" (exhibition agency, Leipzig). Comic book artists gathered from around Europe to each create original comic books about colonial soldiers during World War I as a memoriam to one of the greatest wars in human history.
The story follows the chance meeting between a colonial, Senegalese soldier fighting for the French army and a young French boy. In the dead of winter, the boy is shocked to meet a black man in person for the first time.
Upon completion, the comic was on display at an opening in Berlin entitled "Drawn. Illustrated (Hi)stories of Colonial Soldiers." on the 'Europe 14/14 festival'.
